My Home

Hi my name is Joanna and I was born and raised in Florida, but moved to Kentucky after I married a great man named Josh. We have lived in Kentucky for just over two years now. I have two kitties named Callie and Chloe. I tell them that they are my babies because I do not have any children here on earth. My Mom went to be with Jesus in September 2005 after a long battle with ovarian cancer and then two weeks later I miscarried with twins. I named them Jordan and Peyton and they are now in Heaven with their grandmother. In January of this year I found out I was expecting again with one little baby. Four weeks later at 9 1/2 weeks my little baby Jadyn when home to be with Jesus too. Life is tough, and it is hard some days just to make it through. I know that without God I would have totally fallen apart. But amazingly somehow, I am in one piece!

Enjoy my blog.

Baby!!

Well, I have been waiting to write in my blog because I have some exciting news.  You probably guessed it by the subject line...!  I am pregnant!!  I am 7 1/2 weeks along.  My doctor, knowing my medical history let me go in for an early ultrasound and Josh and I were able to see the heartbeat!!  This is a very very good sign.  If you are able to see the heartbeat early on your chances of miscarriage are slim to none.  On the screen you can see this little flash of the heart pumping.  It is so awesome!!   =)  My due date is right around the date that my Mom passed away which is September 2.  I think this will make her anniversary death date a lot better to deal with having a new baby into the family.  I had to wait until I had the ultrasound to tell everyone because I wanted to be able to see the heartbeat first.  =)

PS AND I HOPE IT IS A GIRL!!  =)

After Christmas Blues

Well, Christmas is over.  My family came the 23rd and stayed until the 26th.  It was a lot of fun to have them here.  At the same time there were such sad memories.  Seeing my Mom's stocking empty staying in the stocking bag was sobering.  Why God?  I tried to make Christmas as Mom would have done it.  I made special breakfast's that Mom would have made.  They all really like that.  The kitty cats were really jumpy having so many people in the house.  Poor Chloe just kept meowing everytime someone picked her up.  Christmas Day we went to church, came home and opened presents.  It was a special time.  Grandma gave me a locket with a sweet saying and a picture of Mom.  It made me cry.  Dad did really good with gifts to all us kids.  Then the day after Christmas they all left to go home.  It just seemed like a huge let down after the fact.  Like a sudden end to all the Christmas spirit.  Just watching their car pull away made me so upset.  I am going to take down all the Christmas decorations tonight.  I just want the holiday season to be over.  I don't know why the after Christmas blues hit me so hard this year.  It doesn't seem to come until mid January!  Hope all of your Christmas's were joyful.  And like ours (sadly), it probably wasn't white.

Christmas Is Coming!

I normally REALLY love the holiday season.  It is a little tougher this year to be so blindly "merry" with all that has gone on with my family.  It is hard to put up a tree and plan your Christmas holiday knowing that your sacred family member will not be with you.  It is hard not to smile, though, when you see snow floating down so merry and white.  It has only snowed once this winter (a teensy little bit) and it is supposed to snow next Wednesday!  Yeah!  It should stay freezing until Christmas which would help the snow not to melt away.  Snow will be my new favorite part of the Christmas season.  Snow just makes the cold temperatures worth it.

Hello

Today is my first blog!  Hopefully this will be a good way for me to keep like a journal and friends and family can read my blog.  Today is really really cold.  Like 25 degrees or something like that.  Snow is predicted for the end of the week!  Yeah!  I can't wait for some "real" snow that will stick.  =)  This Friday night is a Caedmon's Call concert.  Then, on Saturday afternoon our friends Melissa and Sam are getting married.  Saturday evening I have a work Christmas party and Josh and I are attending too.  We will be really busy.  I am glad that Josh will have off Friday and Saturday.  It will help us to get a little more time together.
